Every year, AniCu has made large changes to our online presence in an effort to build up our community. With the issues from the Guild this year, and my leaving Perth, the site changes haven't gone through and AniCu is in greater need of community than ever.

Being the fourth year of AniCu, this is an especially important year, as it marks when most of the first years around when AniCu started will be graduating. Essentially, the committee has been rather static over the past four years and that is reflected in our events being all rather similar. AniCu will of course be changing a lot over next year because of this.

Because of all this, we're asking you, the members, to decide where the club goes. You're all able to go to our upcoming AGM to vote and decide on our next committee, and I believe you should all take the initiative to bring up event ideas to the committee. We've previously held laser games, video game events, and screenings; but little else. This is your chance to get your voice heard and really make AniCu something different. Without screenings thanks to the Guild, that's really important now.

This thread can be used to keep track of your suggestions, but we do have the suggestion box for that. What I'd like to see here is where you want to see AniCu go online. Whether it's online social events, greater forum use, more Twitter updates, or something that sounds crazy like embedding Siren or Madman videos on the site (or at least linking, whatever), leave your thoughts.

Additionally, a major change here will be the site layout. Myself and co-admin Tshen have a few ideas about colour schemes and the layout, and we'll be moving the server to Perth for a more responsive feel, along with mobile support. This means AniCu looks snappier, should be easier to use, and can be viewed on the go; all part of our scheme to make it easier for you guys to share your passion.

If you know much about webdev and can code either PHP, Perl, or are handy with SQL, let us know. If you want to help with porting out layouts across to the new server (basically building the new look), we'd love the help.

This club is what you make it, so make it yours. Thanks for reading,

Been going over the forum traffic a bit recently to try and give you guys a better experience for whatever it is you come here for. Noticing that nobody uses the Doujinshi, Ero-Manga, or Visual Novel boards. I am inclined to leave the VN board alone to distinguish pornography from the main gaming section, but may remove the other two.

If you're not aware they exist and would like to use them, go ahead and I'll leave it alone. On the other hand if people are offended or decide they hold little value here, leave a comment and I shall clean up a bit.

Are there any new forums people want to see? I was considering putting one up for light novels although I don't know if enough people read light novels, seeing as there are only two dozen or so in English, and very few of those are 'official'.

Are there any other changes people want as far as current board structure goes? I guess we could do with a moderator shuffle but that wouldn't be a big deal until we had more active users I think. Sorta thinking out loud here really. A lot of these changes can be done at any time though, but I'd like to get the majority done when the next upgrade happens.

For those that don't know, we have two activities that run every week; the common room is open on Tuesdays, which is located in building 209, Room 224 (the Humanities common room). It's open from 9am-5pm, and snacks and drinks can be bought.

In the common room we generally watch anime and hang with other members, occasionally we hold small events like gaming tournaments.

On Wednesdays, during Common Free Time (12-2pm) in room 402:220. We hold screenings of anime, with 3 series running week to week, and one preview. This semester we are screening Angel Beats, Durarara and Yumekui Merry.
