8th to 10th January 2010. $25 full; $10 day. Trinity College. Be there.
Program
Genghiscon is probably THE most original and different con in Perth. I wouldn't say to go if you are easily offended or don't like being trolled left right and centre, but it is a lot of fun. Not much anime because anime makes you stupid and the Sure Fine Fellows at ghengiscon are quite clever, but if you're into RP or D&D or Cthulu or podcasting or trolling or weird science shit, then it's a good place to be.
I had the priviledge of speaking at a few panels there in 2009 and I'll tell you know, it's completely worth the $10 I paid to be there.

Yeah I heard you speaking about Genghiscon last year, not sure if I'll be able to go though.
anyone going?
not going, maybe next year. i eman, what were they thinking having it the same month of waicon :T
You mean what were PAniC thinking moving themselves to the same month as Ghengiscon? Ghengiscon has always been in January. I recommend anyone with a sense of humor goes really, I learnt a lot about 3D printers, hybrid cars, Doctor Who, webcomics, pinattas, and the shit infested troll filled corners of the internet, it's great.

Ack saw this thread too late. I've always wanted to see D&D in action.
Also saw this thread too late. I wouldn't have minded going.
EDIT: Checking out their program, they seem like a really, really awesome convention, just not anime-based. Next year, I'm in for shizzle.
YESH MY POKER PLANS GOT CANCELLED LAST MINUTE.
Driving down there now. =D
So I decided to be a genius and use google-fu to find the location instead of clicking the 'details' button on the Genghiscon website.
Ended up getting lost around Osborne Park area for 2 hours. (look up Trinity College in Google Maps and you'll know why)
When I arrived it was around 1.30pm. It has pretty much died by then. There was an auction (and I scored some sweet Marvel figurines), but that was it.
doesn't look too hard to get there.
just remember key roads and you'll be fine.
Naw. I finally looked up the details on Genghiscon's website. It's near UWA. I know where that is.
The problem is being a genius and looking up 'trinity college perth' in Google maps (which gave my wrong places to go to).
well theres trinity college a housing place for uwa if im not wrong.
and theres trinity college the high school
I went to Trinity. I was wondering why they were hosting a convention...
