I really like the idea.
Is the cantact we have with the new members good enough to organize an orientation, I mean barely anyone comes on the forums, unless we organize it before O'day and print it out on the handout sheets.
A start of year quiz night was proposed however due to Perth's shonky schooling system a lot of the new members are not 18, there could be ways to work around that though I guess :3
E~
we need to pimp the site more.
I know it's extremely late, but back to the Humans Vs Zombies game.
It sounds like a freaking incredible game, all the moreso because I recently acquired my first Nerf Gun with a laser sight. But rather than make this thing go for days, possibly weeks, why not make it an all day event? Start at, say, 10am and run until maybe 6pm. That's eight hours of awesome, and can be played pretty much any weekend or day off. Many more people are likely to come since they don't have to camp out on campus (lol) for days on end. It'd be a lot cheaper, too. If it's a success, maybe we can look at making a longer, larger version.
EDIT: PS: Assassin looks awesome. Little bit worrying though, but if it was modified to be less... murderous it could be fun.
That may work.
Or we can split it up over several days... Think left 4 dead how at the end of every campaign/level you find a safe house. So we can structure events over getting from point A to point B or completing some sort of task the gain access to the safe house. Stuff like that. And we can also do gathering missions to give humas access to better weapons.
And we can have breaks during safe house times.
But we need people with nerf guns. And the good nerf guns too (Automatics and semi-autos).
But we may have to change the HvZ system a bit. Since it involves the game starting with 1 zombie, which is good for a long game that goes several days. But for a one day thing thats several hours long, it puts the zombie at a big disadvantage. And making people play multiple zombies seems a little unfair for people who want to play humans.
We can take turns. but that will reduce the game time even further.
I like the night time. It's dark.
Basically we need more ideas. And good ones too that will suit a smaller time frame.
Umm firstly, this is all assuming that people will purchase their own nerf guns, Idk how many people are into the idea enough to buy nerf guns, then again I might be wrong.
I like the L4D safehouse idea, and I think that it would be better at night.
Out of curiosity, can we actually find a secluded house like that though?
I was thinking of using our
I M A G I N A T I O N
We'll play on campus. I'm sure we can figure out how we can use some of the locations for our purposes. Safe house is really more of a goal and time period than a location.
safe house can be a tent..or box..or something
I have a four-person tent with an inside room and a 'veranda' on the front, it'd make a good safe-house and/or drinks & snacks supplement station/checkpoint type thing, I'm betting a lot of others have similar tents.
Aaaaand. You can only stay in the safehouse for a set amount of time. Otherwise people would just camp there all day.
you get objectives anyway. So you can't stay there forever. unless you dont want to play the game anymore.
also at safe houses there will be no firing of the nerf weaponry.
if the door is open..can zombies bombard inside and raep everyone?
only when a human steps out of it.
I think that after a while the door should "break" like L4D, just to avoid camping.
i think its only limited to tanks and witches that can break down the door. After you've been through them.
I think now they dont let you close it back.
Ahh ok, I thought that when the horde is coming and you're behind a door or boarded window, they eventually break through it.
no the saferoom door only has that exception
YAY! back to the H vs Z idea! im loving this. We could always charge a small fee for people who decide not to buy/bring their own nerf guns so that we can. We dont have to have like 100 billion gazillion nerf guns just like 5 to 10 i reckon would be sufficient and people could just have turns being humans and zombies, etc
i dont think 5 to 10 is enough though...
depends on the human to zombie ratio, i mean i think starting off with one zombie would be quite hard, would have to be like 10 or rather 10 to 20% zombies i reckon. Depends on the amount of people we get coming to the event pretty much.
